This band had several things in place when they hired EMWeb, but were missing an administrator to keep their social networking current, post to their website, keep their gig calendar current and notify fans through targeted email campaigns of upcoming shows and events. Also needed was interfacing with Google Play, iTunes, etc.

After several months with Occidental Gypsy, the band then brought EMWeb on to also handle their press relations/concert promo and have improved their ability to fill auditoriums and increased press coverage on internet and in print.

What can you do for my business?
EMWeb provides custom visual web design, copy-writing support, site organization recommendations and technical execution of all aspects of registering and launching your business on the web. This can include logo design, site/link organization, coding, and development of primary marketing message. Please let me know what you need, and we’ll go from there.
Do you do website re-design and/or maintenance?
Yes, I provide this service for existing clients, and occasionally can help with maintenance for new clients. I charge an hourly rate for maintenance work.
Can you register my domain for me?
Yes, I manage 100 or so domains right now, and stay on top of renewals and messages from registrar so that you can rest assured your domain is safe and renewed. Your name will be listed on domain as “owner” and I will be listed as “administrative contact.” I provide WHOIS privacy (shielding you from spam), url forwarding, email configuration and shopping cart and/or PayPal set up among other standard services.
What is solar hosting? Why use it?
I provide solar hosting via a great company in California. What this means is that your site files will be available 24/7 on a hosting server powered by the sun. I set up your hosting plan, manage it, and bill annually for renewals. Again, this means professional, personal management at a price similar to (and often lower) than do-it-yourself plans. Your savings is in time, expertise and (everyone’s) energy…..
What is your background/specialty?
Fine arts, restaurants and event planning, and for the last 11 years or so, web design and Internet marketing. My first web design experiences were in securing great page rank for my clients, enabling them to sell their goods and services to the widest market at a cost much, much, much lower than an equivalent in print media. As an artist, I like to make sure everything looks good too….. I also believe I am very good at simplifying a site’s organization too, making it easy to get to what a visitor most wants to find.
Why should I use you and not a larger firm?
Personalized service, direct contact with someone who can help you with any technical questions, and training on how to update your website yourself (if you choose this option). I also think there is an intangible value to working with a real-live human being who cares about your success…. After all, I work off of referrals, and need for you to be happy and have success with your website to keep myself employed.
What about “do it yourself” websites like “Website Tonight” on GoDaddy, or other services?
I only recommend these to people who enjoy learning new things, have some graphic design/photo or image editing experience and are willing to put in the time to make it work. These services are kind of like “make your own furniture” kits. The quality of the result is in direct relationship to the quality of the starting materials, and patience and expertise in putting it together. Sometimes these services provide the equivalent of a “Happy Meal” and what you really need is rich, home made gourmet. Your business goals will determine if you can afford to experiment with a ‘kit’ or if you need a professional. Please also see notes on site ownership below.
Will I own my website? or do you?
Unlike many of these do it yourself website development services, I put together a website for you, with custom graphic files, design files and expert tags that upon completion of project and payment, you own outright. This means you can move these files and domain as you wish. You are not under any obligation to continue with EMWeb–unlike those website “services” that actually lease you back your own site as long as you continue to pay the monthly fees.
Can I change my registrar or hosting?
Yes, I can help you transfer your domain to EMWeb management or from EMWeb management. Your (paid for) domain and website are yours, and you are free to change webmasters/registrars at any time. I hope to provide such comprehensive, hassle-free and value-rich services that you will continue to renew hosting and maintenance with me. But if you get a chance to have a relative or friend manage your site for you for free, who am I to prevent that great deal!?
How do I get started?
Give me a call or email. To get the most out of your free consultation, I need to know the nature of your good or service, your preferred domain, any registrations or logins you currently have (such as a do-it-yourself hosting plan you may already have signed up for), and we can talk about marketing materials you may already have in place (logos, brochures, write-ups, etc.). All of this will help me to talk with you more intelligently about your unique project. It is also helpful to look around and bookmark websites you love, and don’t like, as a great starting point in our consultation.

Again, your first consulation is always free. After this, I can draw up a written website development proposal that addresses your needs and budget. You can then take it or use it as a tool of organization and comparison while you talk with other web designers. I think you’ll probably choose EMWeb once you analyze the ongoing costs, and high level of service.
Can I pay my deposit/invoice/renewal by credit card?
Yes, I now accept all major credit cards via PayPal. All you need to do is go to my contact page and enter amount and your name and Pay Pal will walk you through the rest. This is a secure online processing service.
